Ken Wilber’s The Religion of Tomorrow: Waking Up, Growing Up, Cleaning Up and Showing Up.
July 12, 201912:00 pm–12:50 pm
Richard Rohr calls Ken Wilber the Aquinas of our age for his ability to pull together disparate fields of thought into frameworks that help us to make sense of things. The frameworks to be introduced and discussed in this session are particularly relevant to those of us drawn to the Wild Goose Festival in that they offer us a potential roadmap for navigating the challenges of our age in the context of Humankind’s evolutionary past and future, both developmentally and spiritually. The source of these frameworks is Wilber’s book, “The Religion of Tomorrow: A Vision for the Future of the Great Traditions”. In particular we will be looking at and discussing his frameworks of Waking Up, Growing Up, Cleaning Up and Showing Up, with an emphasis on ‘Growing Up’ and ‘Waking Up’. These two frameworks will be explained primarily through diagrams and discussion of each. The Growing Up framework will set forth the ‘Stages or Levels of Development’ and represents the horizontal (developmental) axis of human evolution. The Waking Up framework will set forth the ‘States of Spiritual Growth or Awakening’ representing the vertical (spiritual) axis of human evolution. Join Kevin for a lively and thought-provoking discussion.
