Breath of Life: Overdose Prevention

July 12, 201910:00 am10:50 am
In 2017 over 72,000 people died of an overdose. How does our faith call us to respond? Together we will explore the theology of Harm Reduction and how we can use it to save lives and live into the call of the Gospel.

This work-ship will focus on overdose prevention and response through a Christian lens. Together we will grieve those we’ve lost, lift up those who remain, and bless our ability to live into the power of resurrection.

Naloxone (also called Narcan) is a medication that can reverse an opiate overdose. It has the power to save lives, it has the power to resurrect, but many don’t know it exists. Those in attendance will be trained in how to recognize a possible overdose and how to administer Naloxone in order to reverse it.

This training will be led by local harm reduction advocates and free overdose prevention kits will be offered to all those in attendance.

As Christians, we are called to be a resurrection people. Join us to learn how to save lives and resurrect our communities.
