Rev. Austin Adkinson is the pastor of Haller Lake UMC in Seattle. They are one of the co-conveners of the United Methodist Queer Clergy Caucus, part of the Praxis Forum of the Westar Institute (known for the Jesus Seminar), and part of the leadership team of the Western Methodist Justice Movement. Selections from his collection of devotionals using texts outside the NT canon appear in current and upcoming issues of The 4th R magazine. As the dust settles around the recent conflict in the UMC, Rev. Adkinson looks forward to putting energy back into passions like consent education and bridging the gap between religious academia and people seeking to grow in faith.
